Alice Nelson was named one of the Sydney Morning Herald's Best Young Australian novelists for her first novel, The Last Sky, which also won the TAG Hungerford Award and was shortlisted for The Australian/Vogel Literary Award and the Barbara Jefferis Award. Her short fiction has been widely published in venues including Southerly, Westerly and the Asia Literary Review. Alice's recently-released book is After This: Survivors of the Holocaust Speak. She is currently completing her doctorate at the University of WA in the area of the narrativisation of traumatic experience in the context of both the Holocaust and the Rwandan genocide. She is also at work on a second novel.
